Frequently Asked Questions
Concise answers to common questions about Chinese company verification.
Platform & Process
What is ChinaCheck?
A SaaS platform that pulls official SAMR/GSXT data on Chinese companies and delivers translated PDF reports in 30 minutes.
How do I order a report?
Search the company, pick a report type, pay via Stripe, and receive the PDF by email. No account is needed until checkout.
How quickly will I receive my report?
Most reports are delivered within 30 minutes after payment; complex Due Diligence reports may take up to 1 hour.
What payment methods are accepted?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and other major cards via Stripe. Invoicing is not currently offered.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — full refund if the core company data cannot be retrieved. Individual empty sections (e.g. no lawsuits) do not qualify.
Data Sources & Translation
Where does the data come from?
China's official sources: SAMR/GSXT (corporate registry), court systems, IP offices, and other government databases.
How current is the data?
Most fields refresh within days of the government source update; risk and litigation sections refresh weekly.
What languages are reports available in?
English, Arabic and Russian. The original Chinese is kept alongside personal names for verification.
How are translations done?
DeepL with a domain-specific glossary. Person and company names are transliterated and the Chinese original is preserved in parentheses.
Search & Identification
I only know the company's English name — how do I search?
Try the company's website (e.g. www.example.com) or a business email (e.g. sales@example.com). English names ending in "Company Ltd." are auto-normalized to the registered "Co., Ltd." form.
What is a USCC (Unified Social Credit Code)?
An 18-character official identifier assigned by SAMR to every Chinese legal entity. It's the most reliable search input.
Can I search by a phone number?
Landline or switchboard numbers sometimes match; mobile numbers rarely do.
The English name in results doesn't match what I expected — why?
The Chinese name is the legal name; English variants are unofficial translations. We always display both so you can verify.
Report Content
What's the difference between the three report types?
Company Information ($19.90): registration basics. Company Risk ($149.90): adds court and enforcement records. Due Diligence ($249.90): adds IP, products and full ownership data.
Can I see a sample report before paying?
Yes — each tier on the Pricing page has a "Download Demo" link with a real, anonymized example.
Does the report include financial statements?
No. Private Chinese companies don't publicly disclose financials. Reports show registered/paid-in capital and annual report indicators only.
Are individual names shown in full?
Company officers and shareholders are shown in full. Ordinary individuals in court records are partially masked per Chinese privacy law.
Risk Signals
What is the "dishonest debtor" list?
A court-published roster of entities that failed to comply with judgments. Appearance on this list is a strong red flag.
What does a "shell entity" indicator mean?
A multi-factor risk score (no employees, no premises, no operations). Detected indicators are listed in detail in the Risk report.
What should I do when the report shows red flags?
Treat them as escalation signals, not final verdicts. Ask the company to explain, consult a local lawyer in China, and consider a full Due Diligence report or on-site verification before committing.
